From the moment you arrive at The Haven Hotel, you’re met with a warm, relaxed energy — and much of that comes from the staff. Their friendly, down-to-earth nature instantly puts guests at ease, and that laid-back vibe carries beautifully through the entire day. As a wedding photographer, I find this kind of atmosphere makes a real difference. It sets the tone for natural, candid moments and lets everyone settle into the day.
Stunning Grounds and Sea Views for Wedding Photography
The hotel’s front lawn is a natural sun trap — perfect for summer ceremonies, casual drinks, and golden hour portraits. Currently regrowing its grass after the addition of a new function room underneath, the lawn still offers incredible views across the bay, creating a picturesque backdrop for photos throughout the day. When the grass comes back to it's former glory, a great place to get family and group photos is on the left side of the lawn under the big trees that offer lovely natural shade. Another great spot is in front of entrance as the sun moves along the back of the house, creating some lovely natural shade from the building.
Across the road, you’ll find a peaceful public park and a shaded, tree-lined path that winds down toward the shoreline. This area is ideal for quieter, more intimate shots. The dappled light through the trees and the rustic charm of the walk down to the sea offers a variety of looks in a short distance.
A Unique Cliffside Photo Location
One of my favourite wedding photo spots in Dunmore East is the cliff rock formation just a short walk from the hotel. It’s bold, windswept, and dramatic — perfect for couples looking for a little cinematic flair in their wedding album. Whether bathed in golden light or softened by an overcast sky, this spot always delivers unforgettable images.
The New Wedding Room – Modern Space with Character
The newest addition to The Haven is a beautifully designed wedding room built beneath the front lawn. The original house remains untouched, with the lawn above preserved — a brilliant touch that maintains the historic charm of the venue. The wedding room itself feels contemporary yet warm, with soft ambient light flowing in through a wide front window. The spiral staircase entrance, set into a grassy bank, makes for a striking moment as couples descend into the space — a visual treat for both videographers and photographers alike.
Comfortable Accommodation with Sea Views
The hotel features 18 individually styled rooms, split between the character-filled main house and modern garden rooms. Many offer sea views, which adds to the calming, coastal feel of the whole experience. For couples and guests staying overnight, it’s the kind of place that feels like a true escape from the everyday.
